How Invisalign Works
Your Invisalign treatment is carefully planned around your smile goals, oral health and bite. Using advanced digital scanning and a series of custom-made clear aligners, we gradually straighten your teeth with a comfortable, discreet treatment designed around your lifestyle.
1
Consultation and Assessment
We begin by discussing what you’d like to improve about your smile and assessing your teeth, bite and overall oral health. Using a digital scan, we’ll determine whether Invisalign is the right option for you, explain the treatment process and create a personalised treatment plan.
2
Create Your Custom Aligners
Your digital scan is used to map every stage of your tooth movement and create your bespoke Invisalign aligners. Once they’re ready, we’ll show you how to wear and care for your aligners, explain your treatment schedule and answer any questions before you begin.
3
Straighten and Maintain Your Smile
As you progress through your aligners, your smile will gradually become straighter and more balanced. We’ll support you throughout your treatment with regular reviews and helpful guidance. Once complete, retainers will help maintain your new smile so you can enjoy your results long-term
Invisalign vs Fixed Braces
Both straighten teeth predictably. The real differences are visibility, lifestyle fit and the complexity of movement each can handle.
For most adults with mild to moderate crowding, Invisalign wins on discretion and lifestyle. For complex bite corrections, or anyone who would struggle to wear aligners consistently, fixed braces remain the more reliable tool.
Invisalign FAQs
Considering Invisalign in Tamworth? These frequently asked questions explain the treatment process, costs, treatment times, suitability and aftercare. Learn what to expect before your consultation at Dale House Dental Practice and whether Invisalign is the right choice for achieving a straighter, healthier smile.
The cost of Invisalign treatment depends on the complexity of your case and how many aligners are required to achieve your desired result. Following your consultation, we’ll provide a personalised treatment plan and a clear breakdown of costs. We also offer flexible finance options to help spread the cost of treatment.
Invisalign is a modern teeth straightening treatment that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move your teeth into their ideal position. Each set of aligners is custom-made to fit your teeth and is worn for around one to two weeks before progressing to the next set. The aligners apply gentle, controlled pressure to create a straighter smile over time.
Treatment time varies depending on your individual smile and how much movement is needed. Many patients complete treatment within 6 to 18 months, although some cases can be shorter or longer. We’ll give you an estimated treatment timeline during your consultation.
Invisalign is generally very comfortable, although you may notice mild pressure or tenderness for the first day or two after changing to a new set of aligners. This is a normal sign that your teeth are moving and usually settles quickly.
Most patients adapt to Invisalign within a few days. You may notice a slight lisp when you first begin wearing your aligners, but this usually disappears as your tongue adjusts. Wearing your aligners consistently helps speed up this adjustment.
You should remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than plain water. This helps prevent staining and damage to the aligners. Remember to brush your teeth before putting them back in to keep both your teeth and aligners clean.
Invisalign can successfully treat many mild to moderate orthodontic concerns, including crowded teeth, gaps and certain bite issues. During your consultation, we’ll assess your teeth, bite and oral health to determine whether Invisalign is the best option for your smile goals
Clean your aligners daily using lukewarm water and a soft toothbrush or Invisalign cleaning crystals if recommended. Avoid hot water, which can warp the plastic, and store your aligners safely in their case whenever they’re not being worn. Keeping your aligners clean and wearing them for 20–22 hours each day will help you achieve the best possible results.
